The FFA Cup has commenced with Round of 32 fixtures being taken place over the past two weeks.
Find out which teams are through to the Round of 16 and which exciting fixtures are still to come.
Zone 1 – East
With all of Zone 1’s teams based out of New South Wales and the ACT, no fixtures out of the zone have taken place yet, but here’s a look at which fixtures are to come when play resumes.
Sydney Olympic v Sydney FC

Zone 2 – North
Zone 2 remains the only pot of the FFA Cup to have all of its fixtures played out with sides from the Queensland NPL and Northern Territory in action.
Brisbane Roar 3-0 Peninsula Power
There were no giant killing in the opening game of the FFA Cup Round of 32 with A-League Mens outfit Brisbane cruising to a convincing three-goal victory over NPL Queensland ladder leaders Peninsula Power.
The Roar would score the opening goal of the game courtesy of new German signee Matti Steinmann who’d score his first club goal on his Roar debut, breaking the deadlock in the 19th minute.
Brisbane would double its advantage through another debutant in the 33rd minute, youngster Luke Ivanovic heading home after a Jack Hinger cross set him up.
Argentine striker Juan Lescano would score the Roar’s third goal in the 87th minute, with the former Liverpool and Real Madrid academy player coming off the bench in the 78th minute.
Gold Coast Knights 2-0 Edge Hill United
The fairy tale cup run for Edge Hill United came to an end, with the Queensland fifth-tier side going down 2-0 to top-tier side Gold Coast Knights 2-0.
United would take it to the Knights, holding them scoreless until the final five minutes when Knights striker Marek Madle was brought down inside the box. Jheison Macuace would convert from the spot to put the Knights a goal ahead.
Knights substitute Duantea Mariner would then seal the game going on a solo run and scoring past United keeper Kevin Ward to put the side two goals ahead in injury time.
Lions FC 6-0 Casuarina FC
Lions FC made easy work of Northern Territory side Casuarina, who’d like to forget their inaugural FFA Cup Round of 32 appearance.
Former Roar and Victory forward Jean Carlos Solorzano was instrumental in the Lions opening goal, assisting Jordan Farina for the opening goal in the 21st minute. Solorzano would be involved again for the Lions second goal, netting himself in the 48th minute to put the side two goals ahead.
Defender Finn Beakhurst would score the Lions third goal in the 59th minute, before Farina would score his second goal and the Lions fourth ten minutes later.
Four goals ahead and the Lions wouldn’t slow down adding another two goals with Lions fullback Zac Maltby getting in on the act in the 73rd minute before substitute Alex Fiechtner would score the Lions sixth goal in the 79th minute.
Running out six goal winners it was one of the heaviest defeats seen in the FFA Cup since the competition was established.
Zone 3 – South
Zone 3 consists of sides from New South Wales, Victoria and the Wellington Phoenix of New Zealand. Similar to Zone 1 none of its fixtures have been played out, so here’s a look at the upcoming games when play resumes.
It has been stated that all four NPL Victoria clubs are commencing training in the coming weeks, with the fixtures below to ideally commence in late October to mid-November.
Western United/Newcastle Jets v Wellington Phoenix

Avondale FC v Devonport FC
South Melbourne v Melbourne City
Zone 4 – West
Zone 4 will see sides from South Australia and Western Australia compete, with two fixtures already taken place, NPL side Adelaide City are awaiting the winner out of Melbourne Victory and Perth Glory in a FFA Cup qualifier.
Adelaide United 3-1 Floreat Athena
Adelaide United received a scare against WA NPL side Floreat Athena, but were able to overcome them injury time to run out two goal winners.
United struck first through Louis D’Arrigo in the 18th minute, Joshua Cavallo’s cross was placed perfectly for D’Arrigo to head home the opening goal.
Down 1-0 at half time, Floreat would equalise defender Christopher Saladaris, his strike from outside box found the bottom left corner in the 56th minute.
With both sides failing to find the net in regular time, United would seal the game in extra time scoring two in ten minutes in the first interval of extra time.
Striker George Blackwood who started the game on the bench would goal two minutes into extra time to put the Reds ahead before fellow substitute Yaya Dukuly would score in the 102nd minute.
Adelaide Olympic 3-0 ECU Joondalup
South Australian side Adelaide Olympic cruised it’s WA opponents 3-0, breaking away in the second half to romp to a three goal victory.
After a scoreless first half, Olympic would finally break the deadlock in the 70th minute with defender Christos Pounendis.
Stiker Fausto Erba would double Olympic’s lead in the 79th minute with substitute Giannis Simosis putting the side three goals ahead in the 87th minute.
