19-year-old Daniel Maldini and this evening he scored on his full debut with the Rossoneri while his proud father, Paolo Maldini was watching on from the stands.
The teenager was making his first Serie A start for his club in the 2-1 win for AC Milan over Spezia at the Stadio Alberta Picco. However Daniel Maldini has made 14 substitute appearances in the past two years.
This is the third generation in the famous family to score for the Italian giants. His dad, the legendary Paolo Maldini scored 33 goals in more than 900 AC Milan games; while his grandfather, Cesare Maldini scored three goals in 412 games.
With 48 minutes on the clock, Daniel Maldini went back and connected on a cross to score a historic goal and to make the occasion even more special, Milan’s technical director, Paolo, was in the stands and jumped out of his seat to celebrate his son’s first goal.
“Daniel has talent, technique, he reads the game well and knows how to integrate himself”, said Milan coach Stefano Pioli to DAZN.
