The Newcastle Jets have engaged local sustainable socks business The Final Third which will see the Hunter-based side wear Recycled Grip Socks, which is believed to be the first lub to do so.
Per a press release, the Grip Socks are “made from post consumer waste that is turned into recycled polyester”.
This marks the first formal partnership for the The Final Third with an A-League Men Club, with Director Dane Hinchy delighted at the completion of this partnership.
“This partnership is exciting for us for so many reasons”, Hinchy said.
“Firstly, as a small business, we’re grateful to be working with an A-League club.
“Beyond that, it’s even better that we can work with Newcastle Jets to help make them more sustainable, but also to show footballers across the country that our sustainably made performance wear is built for the top level.”
Both Men’s and Women’s sides will be decked out in the socks for the upcoming A-League Men and A-League Women seasons.
