The group stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League kicks off tomorrow morning (AEST) and global sports streaming platform DAZN in partnership with YouTube are commencing their live coverage for fans around the world.
From tomorrow 6 October through to the finals in May, all 61 matches will be available live on DAZN and free globally on DAZN’s new UEFA Women’s Champions League YouTube channel.
This will signify the first time in which UEFA have centralised all their UWCL matches, where fans will be able to access and follow every single match, from anywhere in the entire world for free.
The ease of access to watch the Champions League will prove wonderful for Australian football fans, where the likes of Chelsea’s Sam Kerr, Lyon’s Ellie Carpenter and Arsenal’s Australian trio in the form of Lydia Williams, Cailtin Foord and Steph Catley and more will be in action across the tournament.
All-time highest goalscorer in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and Ellie Carpenter’s teammate at Lyon Ada Hegerberg said:
“I am thrilled about this partnership. For people to have access to our games wherever they are is a massive move in the right direction, which was long overdue in my eyes. And looking at the content DAZN is planning, to put the spotlight on players and stories across all places, will take things to the next level too. UEFA Women’s Champions League is coming close and I can’t wait for this season to start and show the world what we are made of!”
DAZN have announced that there will be a game of the week, where fans will be able to be provided a close and personal look at all facets of the game where the game will be hosted by a rotating cast of iconic figures within women’s football.
The first game of the week will be Barcelona taking on Arsenal on the 6th of October.
DAZN’s punditry lineup includes Pien Meulensteen, Romain Ballard, Sandra Riquelme, Pierluigi Pardo, Verena Schweers and more.
The host broadcaster will also reveal the next instalment of the “We All Rise” six-part series that shines a focus upon women’s football within six European cities from the grassroots to professional level.
These short-form episodes will be broadcasted across half time on every match which will feature a range of professional footballers, grassroots players, officials, coaches and more.
