After an impressive Olympics campaign, finishing fourth with Australia in the Tokyo 2020 edition of the games Hayley Raso has signed with Women’s Champions League side and juggernaut WSL side Manchester City on a two-year deal.
She joins from Everton, where in 19 games she scored five goals in all competitions.
Raso spoke to Manchester City about her excitement in signing with the 2nd placed WSL side from last season.
“Having played in the WSL last season, I really liked the league – it’s very tough and competitive and being able to come to a team like City who are up there fighting for all the trophies and playing in the Champions League, it’s an opportunity I couldn’t turn down” she said.
“Personally, I feel like I can fit in well with the team’s style of play – when I met with Gareth [Taylor], he spoke so highly of the Club and squad as a whole, and I knew that it was definitely the place I wanted to be.”
Raso previously plied her trade with W-League sides Canberra United and Brisbane Roar, where she won titles with both clubs.
Hayley Raso continues her journey in England, where in the WSL she is joined by the likes of Steph Catley, Sam Kerr, Caitlin Foord, Mackenzie Arnold and Lydia Williams.
