Sources tell Kick360 that Melbourne Victory are reportedly in talks to sign experienced defender Brendan Hamill.
Hamill played 15 games for Western United last season and was a member of Tony Popović’s Western Sydney Wanderers team that won the Asian Champions League in 2014.
The 28-year-old has played 133 games in the A-League and will bring a new level of steel and toughness to Victory’s defence as Popović looks to build a squad that will challenge for the title.
Hamill suffered an ACL injury, making his return to the Western United lineup last season as they missed out on finals.
Despite playing primarily in the A-League, the former Melbourne Heart defender has also plied his trade in the K League for Seongnam.

The club have now confirmed the signing of Brendan Hamill on a two-year deal.
“Brendan has matured since I last coached him and is another great professional that we are excited to be bringing into the squad,” coach Tony Popovic said.
“Having worked with Brendan in the past I have trust and confidence in his ability to help us succeed both on and off the pitch. He is a winner and importantly a great person.”
Hamill expressed his excitement in joining his third Melbourne club

“It was always intimidating coming to AAMI Park as part of an opposition team due to the atmosphere the fans created.
