Round 19 of the Victoria’s top footballing flight is in the books, with several intriguing results occurring last weekend.

Melbourne Knights 1-1 St Albans Saints
The Knights shared points with the Saints at Knights Stadium under lights last Friday.
Coming off back-to-back losses, the Knights looked poised to snap their losing streak when former Wellington Phoenix striker George Ott scored his first Knights’ goal in the 42nd minute.
Ahead 1-0 at half time, Adam Hodor bobbed for the equaliser in the 56th minute to ensure his side came away with something.
South Melbourne 0-0 Green Gully
South missed an opportunity to create further distance at the top of the table, playing out a goalless draw with Green Gully.
With both clubs amongst the top teams in the competition, the stage was set for an entertaining fixture. Though never side would find the net.
Bentleigh Greens 0-0 Hume City
The Greens poor run of form continued last weekend, and though they secured a point, the goalless draw now puts them three points out of the top six.
With just one win in their past five fixtures, the Greens are dropping off at the wrong time of the season. Meanwhile relegation for Hume remains a real possibility, with the side ahead of the automatic relegation spots on goal difference.
Avondale 5-1 Eastern Lions
Without a loss in their past fixture, the Avengers put in arguably their most dominant performance of the campaign, running out comprehensive victors over the Lions.
Lions’ Kosta Emmanuel stunned the home side scoring inside the opening minutes of the game, Kristian Trajceski then equalised on the verge of half time.
The game would turn in the Avengers favour in the second half. Forward Manyluak Aguek was the star of the show, finishing the game with a hat-trick while Liston Diaz also found the net.
Dandenong Thunder 3-1 Dandenong City
The Thunder have taken the chocolates against local rivals City, though the fixture wasn’t as exciting as their first meeting.
Both sides went into half time level, Scott Lochhead broke the deadlock for the Thunder in the 18th minute.
Gavin De Niese equalised in the 41st minute before James Poole put the Thunder ahead again..
Lochhead would then put his side two goals ahead in 54th minute, sealing the game for his side.
Oakleigh Cannons 3-1 Port Melbourne Sharks
The Cannons now sit just two points off the top of the table, recording a comfortable victory over the Sharks.
Daniel Clark scored twice inside the opening 20 minutes to get the Cannons off to a bright start and put his side 2-0 up at half time.
Oakleigh would go three goals ahead through Joe Guest who scored in the 56th minute.
The Sharks would score a consolation prize, Fletcher Mcfarlane finding the net in injury time.
Heidelberg United 1-0 Altona Magic
The Warriors have continued their impressive rise, with a 1-0 victory putting their inside of the top six.
United got off to a quick start, with the deadlock breaking open through Adrian Zahra in the 18th minute.
Ahead 1-0 at half time, the Magic were unable to respond in the second half.
