Former Perth Glory, Western Sydney Wanderers, and Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper Liam Reddy has signed with Perth Redstar.
He comes on an injury replacement exemption owing to Riley Stephenson’s long-term injury.
Reddy “brings experience, physical presence, great shot-stopping, and a track record of producing at the highest level in Australia,” said men’s head coach Callum Salmon.
With almost 250 A-League men’s appearances under his belt, the experienced goalie has an outstanding resume and will be aiming to not only guide Redstar to their first league title, but “help them (Redstar’s young players), mould them, and push them this year in hoping they can achieve the things they want to achieve in football.”
Reddy revealed his delight over joining the club following his first training session at the RedStar Arena.
“I haven’t joined a new club in a few years,” he remarked, “but it was a good training session tonight.”
“I met all the boys, and it helped already knowing Riley Warland and Declan Hughes from my time at Perth Glory.
“Coming back into the game has come quicker than expected due to the June transfer window, but I’m excited to get back amongst it.”
Reddy is anticipated to make his debut for the NPL WA outfit away against Armadale on Saturday afternoon.
