In one of the most notoriously toughest leagues across Europe, FC Rosengård, the home to two Australians in the form of Teagan Micah and Charlotte Grant have captured the Damallsvenskan title for the 12th time in their history.
The victory against Piteâ away from home 3-2 secured the title, with both Micah and Grant starting the contest.
This marks their second championship in three years having beat out second place BK Häcken to the title with two games to spare in the league.
In securing the championship, this guarantees FC Rosengård a place in the second qualification phase in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Starting Matildas goalkeeper Teagan Micah, having joined the Swedish side in August of this year has started seven games across the campaign thus far, keeping two clean sheets.
The move was earned following a historic Olympic campaign with the Matildas where she established herself as the starting goalkeeper ahead of Lydia Williams.
Grant on the other hand made headlines as at the closure of last season’s W-League campaign, the Adelaide born defender made the move to Rosengård where she has since played six times across the campaign, starting three times.
That move led to her Matildas debut against Ireland in September, having been called up in previous international windows.
Both have been selected in the Matildas squad for the upcoming clashes against Brazil on the 23rd and 26th of September to be held at CommBank Stadium.
