The Western Sydney Wanderers A-League Womens’ have announced a two season partnership with global manufacturing and technology group Komatsu.
Announced today at a press-conference at Komatsu’s Western Sydney headquarters, the partnership will see the Komatsu brand on the right-sleeve of the jersey, along with a number of community initiatives.
Komatsu were founded near Komatsu City, and this year celebrate their 100th year in business, coinciding with the Wanderers’ 10th season celebrations. The business are now a global leader in manufacturing and distribution.
The press conference was attended by Wanderers Chief Executive John Tsatsimas, Komatsu Managing Director Sean Taylor, as well as Wanderers players Bryleeh Henry, Olivia Price and Caitlyn Knox.
“Komatsu’s global reach can be seen in Western Sydney today, where they have found a home for their business and supported so many families with employment opportunities,” said John Tsatsimas.
“The next two seasons are set to be major on both a domestic and international level with the FIFA Women’s World Cup on our shores in 2023, and we are very proud to have Komatsu on-board to support our A-League Women’s team over this period.”
Komatsu Managing Director Sean Taylor said that Komatsu are incredibly excited to be partnering with the Wanderers A-League Womens’ side, and celebrate the remarkable achievements in the community and in football.
“Through this partnership with the Western Sydney Wanderers, we want to showcase not only the remarkable female footballers from the Wanderers but shine a light on the opportunities available in our industry,” Taylor said.
“Many are not aware of the diverse roles and exciting career paths available in the construction and mining industry, working with exciting and sustainable technologies. From apprentices to engineering, sales, and service technician roles, we want to make sure women are given greater opportunities to make their mark.”
The Western Sydney Wanderers A-League Women’s side kick off their season on the 3rd of December against the Wellington Phoenix, playing their first season in the competition.
