This morning the A-Leagues have released the anthem for the upcoming season, entitled “Real Nice (H.C.T.F)”, put together by artists Young Franco & Tkay Maidza featuring Nerve.
It marks the commencement of a new era in Australian Football, with the 2021/22 campaign kicking off this evening with Melbourne City taking on Brisbane Roar. The song will be accompanied by a music video, which will premiere during the Sydney Derby tomorrow evening.
Director of Data & Marketing of the A-Leagues, Rob Nolan said:
“We’ve stated our ambition to reimagine the football experience for fans in Australia and this collaboration, and broader campaign, are testament to the vision. ‘Here Come the Future’ captures the essence of the future of Australian football and has the ability to reach millions of people. We already know that there is a significant crossover between football and culture amongst our existing fans on social media, so this cultural collaboration was the perfect fit”,
“We were excited to work with Young Franco, Tkay Maidza and Nerve who are exploding on the global music scene right now, and with Marco and Jada, who are stars of the A-Leagues and have been great sports to get involved. We love the intersection of the next generation of homegrown musicians, the future of football and a new audience connecting and uniting around a common purpose.”
“This is a revolutionary moment for Football in Australia. As we continue to grow and build on our new brand and this new era we are creating, this track speaks volumes about the professional direction we are heading in and the incredible opportunities that lie ahead for our men’s and women’s leagues”, the A-Leagues Chief Commercial Officer, Ant Hearne said.
“Our Leagues continue to offer a professional pathway for footballers of all cultures to excel and this collaboration encourages the next generation to both look at and participate in football in a totally new way.”
